I have been to the Pioneer Saloon many times and realized that I have not reviewed it. Going for lunch was a leisurely drive from Las Vegas. The weather was perfect for the outdoor patio. Service from our server was prompt. I ordered the Poltergeist Burger and my wife ordered the Cowboy Burger. Both come with a bag of potato chips. I decided on the Poltergeist because on my last visit I had the Ghost Burger and the server recommended it because it has more heat than the Ghost Burger. Food delivery was a on the slow side but we were not in a hurry. The Poltergeist had plenty of heat from the grilled jalapeno peppers, jalapeno bacon and ghost sauce. It was mucho hot and delicious. The Cowboy Burger was also tasty and juicy. Definitely check out the bar and the museum room. This place has a vast amount of history. Live entertainment is regularly scheduled Check their web site in advance. They are very busy on weekends.

Had a great time at the Pioneer saloon the other night! It's not "new", it's not sparkling - of course not, it's the oldest bar in Southern Nevada, over 110 years old - but it is quite the experience! Our bartender and fun coordinator was Tyler and he was so amazing. And the food was wonderful, too. You wouldn't think you would get a great chef salad at a bar in the middle of nowhere, but my brother said it was one of the best he'd had. I, on the other hand, had to get things I would never get anywhere else - so I got the"high blue cactus burger". It was delicious and perfect. The burger was topped with some freshly cooked bacon, blue cheese, pickled and grilled Napolitos cactus and had crispy onion straws underneath it all. Normally I'm not a blue cheese person but this all worked together fantastically. I think there was some kind of spicy barbecue sauce or something in there, too. Tyler made me this beautiful drink which had muddled blueberries with peach nectar, whiskey, club soda, garnished with a cinnamon stick, a rosemary sprig and lemon. Delicious. I love the name of it: the Fuzzy Blue Balls. Of course I had to get it just for the name, but it was quite the worthy drink. And dessert! We got the shake that had caramel swirls on the inside of the cup and something else in there that I can't remember, but the edge of the cup had been dipped in marshmallow cream and then in toffee bits. Of course, there was whipped cream and a cherry, and it was as good as everything else! Stop here if you want something different or if you just want some great food! You're a diehard city dweller, this place might look a little "suspicious", but be brave, it's pretty incredible!

I came here after escaping a New California republic correction facility, I decided to grab a bite, and maybe if I'm lucky get directions to Vegas, the salisbury steak was fantastic, and the sunset sarsaparilla was freezing, it was so good I decided to not rat them out to the other escaped convicts 10/10

cool pit stop on the way Vegas from LA even if it's just to stretch your legs. When we walked in, it was a bit confusing if we should just seat ourselves or wait for a hostess but a kind gentleman came up to us to let us know to sit anywhere. There were indoor and outdoor seating but because it was peak summer, we chose to sit inside. We ordered their biscuit and gravy, and chili, with a side of jalapeño bacon. Presentation was questionable for the biscuit and gravy but don't judge a book by its cover! The biscuit was the perfect texture for the saucy-chunky gravy, which provided a slight smokiness. The jalapenos bacon wasn't anything different than regular bacon but I liked how it was cooked - crunchy! The chili was a hefty entree in a small bowl, and it came with jalapeño cheddar cornbread, which was just ok - tasted and looked undercooked. I appreciated how the server asked us if we wanted cheese on the chili or not, or if there's any dietary restrictions! After this stop, you're not too far from the Vegas strip either- less than hr left. And on the other side of the highway is the seven Magic mountains installation.
